CENTRO CRISTIANO EMANUEL

Hello dear friend,

COLEGIO UN LUGAR DE ESPERANZA
We pray that you are well.  We would like to take a minute to thank you for your much appreciated support and prayers.   Truly words can not express our gratitude.  There is so much to be done but we are going forward step by step and that would not be possible if it were not for you standing along side us.

We have been working diligently on what God has called us to here in the Dominican Republic and we are seeing growth in every area of the ministry. Here is a brief update.

A Place of Hope (Colegio Un Lugar de Esperanza)

There are currently 91 children attending the school.  The growth has been amazing, just two years ago we had an enrolment of 35 children.  God is good!
Property for sale (potential site for the school)

The increase in enrolment is due to the success of our sponsorship program.  The program has opened doors to many children in our community and neighbouring communities.  This year we moved to a new location and are quickly outgrowing it. We already have new students registering for the next school year.  As we continue to grow we recognize the urgent necessity to buy and build.

We know that we are changing lives and impacting the future!  We invite you to be part of S.O.S., Supporting Our Students.   Any donation would be greatly appreciated and we thank you in advance for helping us finish this school year strong.

Women of Destiny (Mujeres de Destino)

In January the women’s ministry began to visit the public hospitals in the city of Santiago.  It all started with a visit to pray for two women from Baitoa that were hospitalized there. We took supplies, toilet paper, soap, used sheets, etc.  The public hospitals do not provide anything, just a bed.  Well, what turned out to be a one time visit has turned into a monthly outreach.  Every month we go into the hospitals to pray, give out supplies and bibles.

This has been a life changing experience for the women and for the church. We are called to be light and salt, what a privilege it is to serve God and serve others.

Youth
Today’s youth our leaders of tomorrow?! That is a statement that may send chills down the spine of many.  We have seen a national increase in violent delinquent acts, drug abuse and teen pregnancy.  We have been praying for the youth and at all costs we understand that we must invest in the lives of our future! We believe that in spite of what we see great things are to come from this generation.

And because we choose to believe that God has a plan, we are experiencing a new excitement among the youth here in Baitoa.  Last month 11 youth from our church were blessed with an all expense paid youth retreat.  The 11 returned refreshed, renewed and ready to serve God with their whole heart.  Since the retreat the Friday night youth meetings have doubled in attendance!
Be part of the team!
We would love for you to become part of the team and help us impact the lives of the people of the Dominican Republic.  Your tax deductible donation can be made to; Good News International
