Life in the DR part 2 - It smells like a rat
Life is always so exciting here! As you know our back storageroom is full of tarantulas and rats. Well the day after I found the tarantula, Leo accidently left a back door open, just a crack. It leads to the enclosed patio and the storage room. When we arrived home I noticed that it was open I knew, I just knew that a rat got in the house. At the time we had no electricity to search it out and I had no evidence that there was one in the house, but I knew. So the next morning I go into the kitchen to make coffee and saw that nearly half an avocado was eaten and I saw large droppings on the counter...so disgusting! I ran it the bedroom, this was at 6:00am, insisitng that Leo get up and find the rat. He was reluctant at first, but I told him I was not going into the kitchen. The kitchen is a small kitchen and I knew that the rat was large, and the odds of running into eachother were quite high. Needless to say, He got himself together and went in the kitchen and did what he had to do. I won't give details, but let's just say that the there is one less to worry about. I spent the next two days disinfecting the kitchen. I must say that I prefer a tarantula over a rat. Rats carry diseases, there have been many that have died because of the diseases that the rats carry. We have declared war on the rat room!
